Yesterday, November 26, 2024, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Brazil had the honor of celebrating a historic investiture of 12 new members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta in an emotional and meaningful ceremony at the Military Cathedral Rainha da Paz in Brasília.
The Mass was presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Dom Raymundo Damasceno Assis, with the presence of important ecclesiastical authorities, including:
• Apostolic Nuncio to Brazil, Dom Giambattista Diquattro
• Archbishop of the Military Ordinariate in Brazil, Dom Marcony Vinícius Ferreira, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem of the Sovereign Order of Malta
• Diocesan Bishop of Itumbiara/Goiás, Dom José Aparecido Gonçalves de Almeida
• Bishop of Óbidos/Pará, Dom Bernardo Johannes Bahlmann, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem of the Sovereign Order of Malta
• Frei Vicente Bohne, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem and Chaplain General of the Sovereign Order of Malta
The ceremony was a moment of renewal of faith, commitment, and service to the Church and society, marked by prayers, blessings, and the unity of all present.
Also present were Senators, Ministers, Ambassadors, other authorities, as well as many family members and friends of the Order.
